Women's History Month Opening Ceremony with special guest speaker Jamie Cutino

Join us for our Women’s History Month Opening Ceremony as we welcome special guest speaker, Jamie Cutino.
'Outsmart Imposter Syndrome Keynote & Workshop' - Join Jamie Cutino for an energizing session aimed at dismantling imposter syndrome and unlocking your potential. In her keynote, Jamie shares her transformative journey and practical tips for building resilience and confidence. The follow-up workshop provides hands-on strategies to develop your personalized success blueprint, helping you to achieve your academic and personal goals.
Complimentary food and refreshments will be provided. Please note this is a two-hour event with an inspiring keynote the first hour following with the workshop portion for the second half.
Virtual Artist Talk with Photographer Kija Luca
2 p.m.– 3 p.m.
About the Artist
Kija Lucas, a notable ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì Photography alumni, is an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She uses photography to explore ideas of home, heritage and inheritance and is interested in how ideas are passed down and seemingly inconsequential moments create changes that last generations. Her work is presently on display at the Mills College Art Museum and has been exhibited at Oakland Museum of California, Headlands Center for the Arts, San Francico Arts Commission Galleries, Palo Alto Arts Center, Intersection for the Arts, La Sala d’Ercole/Hercules Hall in Bologna Italy, and Casa Escorsa in Guadalajara, Mexico. Lucas received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and her MFA from Mills College.

Making Art & Reclaiming Space: One Woman's Journey
11 a.m.– 12:15 p.m. BIPOC Center (2149)
Erin Salazar is an artist, idea machine, muralist, seamstress, community organizer and a public art curator. She is Executive Director and Founder of the Local Color, a non-profit, artist centered organization that engages with community members to support local artists and foster the transformative power of public art. Salazar has led many public art and advocacy projects including murals totaling 30,000 sf of vertical space and opened a 20,000 sf creative haven called Local Color in downtown San Jose. Come listen to her speak on journey as an artist, cultural worker, community organizer, and learn more about her artistic vision.
