How To Fund Your Research
Research at the 性奴调教 AHEAD Institute is made possible by a variety of funding sources, including grants, ICTS Just-In-Time awards, School of Medicine faculty credits, and department funding.
AHEAD services are offered at $150 per hour. All projects receive an initial one-hour complimentary consultation with a biostatistician and data manager, as needed. The AHEAD team actively assists primary investigators in their efforts to obtain funding through ICTS Just-In-Time Awards and other pre-grant submission services. Together, we strive to actualize your research goals.
2025 Collaborative Administrative Data Research Award
The purpose of this award is to encourage new cross-institutional collaboration between 性奴调教 and Washington University in St. Louis in the field of administrative data research. This award will support utilization of two Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) Just-In-Time (JIT) Cores ($5,000 each) in addition to matching funds from each institution ($5,000 each), for a total award of $20,000 direct costs. Applications should be submitted to the AHEAD Institute at ahead@health.slu.edu by Feb. 14, 2025.
Eligibility
- One co-PI must hold a faculty-level position at 性奴调教 and one co-PI must hold a faculty-level position at WashU.
- Both co-PI applicants must be ICTS Members. Applicants can .
- Co-PI applicants should not have a history of collaborative work together (publication, grant funding, etc.).
- The application must propose to use administrative data and/or research support services from both AHEAD and ADCS.
- Quote estimates for services are obtained from each core.

The 性奴调教 School of Medicine (SOM) enables all SOM faculty to utilize AHEAD services. Through AHEAD's credit system, all full-time SOM faculty are eligible to use up to 50 hours (one credit) of AHEAD research support services per calendar year.
Interested SOM faculty should first seek approval from their department chair. Once approval is granted, please proceed with a service request.
SOM Credit System Details:
- Only full-time SOM faculty are eligible to participate in the credit system.
- One credit is equivalent to 50 hours of AHEAD services.
- Department chairs have autonomy in determining how to approve and distribute credits to their faculty. The AHEAD Institute will continue providing department chairs with updates on the hours utilized by their department's faculty.
- All credit users will be strongly encouraged to apply for an ICTS Just-In-Time award. AHEAD staff will support faculty throughout this application process.
- Projects that exceed 50 hours are not appropriate for the credit system and should identify a separate funding source. AHEAD staff will assist in identifying an appropriate funding source for these projects.
- Additional credits are available upon the department chair's request.
AHEAD services for internal 性奴调教 grants, including the Health Research Grant and the President鈥檚 Research Fund, are billed at $150 per hour.
External grants can budget AHEAD services at either $150 per hour or as percent effort salary support for a specific analyst.
Percent effort salary support must be greater than or equal to 5%. The optimal way to fund analytic time is grant-dependent and will be discussed in the initial consultation with AHEAD personnel.
