Foothill Faculty: Are you interested in leading a study abroad program?

Consider applying to be a lead for the  Spring 2027 quarter-long study abroad program! 

In the fall quarter we will open up the application period for the exciting role of 鈥淔aculty Lead鈥� for our Spring 2027 Quarter-Long Study Abroad Program offered through the Office of Global Experiential Learning (GEL). Two full-time, tenured faculty will be selected to lead a group of 30-40 students abroad for an 8-10 week program in a destination stiill to be determined. Some of the destinations we have chosen or considered in the past include:

1. Florence, Italy (Spring 2023)
2. London, England (Fall 2023)
3. Kyoto, Japan (Spring 2025)
4. San Jos茅 or Heredia, Costa Rica (Spring 2026)
5. Santiago, Chile
6. Buenos Aires, Argentina
7. M茅rida (Yucatan), Mexico
8. Cape Town, South Africa
9. Rabat, Morocco
10. Prague, Czech Republic
11. Where would you like to lead a group to?? 

All full-time, tenured instructional faculty are eligible to apply for these positions. As soon as the application period opens you will find the application and instrucitions here.

Program proposals for short-term faculty designed & led programs

If you are interested in pitching a faculty-led/designed global epxeriential learning program for Foothill students and/or the boader community, similar to the Spring Environmental Justice in Cuba program, or the Summer Anthropology Field Schools, please reach out to the Global Experiential Learning Office to receive a proposal template and support for completing the form. Please note that the deadline for submitting proposals is December 1 for the following acacdemic year (summer, fall, winter, spring).
