DICE Launches Faculty Mentoring Series for Engaging All Faculty in the Community Practice of Mentoring

性奴调教's Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement piloted the Early Career Faculty Mentoring Program last year. In an effort to broaden the impact of the program on mid-career faculty, the was created for the 2024-25 academic year.

The series includes monthly sessions curated with faculty from underrepresented groups in mind such as women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latine, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, and those with disabilities. All faculty are invited to the events. 

鈥淔aculty shared with us last year that they wanted choices to fit their career paths, and we are listening and innovating to increase access to critical supports for their advancement and retention here at 性奴调教,鈥 said Rochelle Smith, Vice President of DICE. 

Faculty can opt into relevant sessions based on their needed supports. For example, on Tuesday, Dec. 10 writing retreat is scheduled. Later in October, on Thursday, Oct. 31, the group will be hosting a culturally-aware and mission-driven mentoring event.  The event will Colette Taylor, Ph.D. from Seattle University.

Additionally, the group is hosting an event on Thursday, Nov. 14. The Faculty Speed Networking: Fill Your Mentor Map event is designed to find mentor matches from across campus. Early, mid, and senior faculty all . 

Ultimately, DICE aims to engage all 性奴调教 faculty for building a community of practice for faculty mentorship and belonging together. Faculty can add their names to a monthly email communication about the series to stay in the know about DICE鈥檚 Faculty Mentoring Series via .
