ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì’s 2024 Midyear Commencement Scheduled for Saturday
12/06/2024
ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì will celebrate its newest class of graduates with its 2024 Midyear Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at Chaifetz Arena. For those unable to attend, the ceremony will stream live on slu.edu, on ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì's , and .
Associate Professor of Accounting Neil Jansen will deliver the commencement address. Jansen has been chosen as the 2024 Nancy McNeir Ring Award recipient — ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì's highest honor for teaching, was initially established in 1966 by ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì's chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit honor society, to acknowledge faculty members who display special dedication to students.
ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì's Midyear Commencement is slightly different from the May Commencement ceremony. In May, because of the large number of students graduating, the students walk across the stage in precommencement ceremonies. With a smaller group of graduates, students who take part in ÐÔÅ«µ÷½Ì's Midyear Commencement Ceremony are individually recognized as they cross the stage along with others from their school, college, or degree-granting center.
The ceremony is scheduled to run approximately 90 minutes.
