Research

Faculty and Ph.D. students at the Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics at Saint Louis University regularly publish on the topics of health care and bioethics.

Faculty members have held grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Office of Research Integrity, and several foundations, including the Mayday and Templeton Foundations.

Over the past decade, our faculty has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and more than 70 invited articles and book chapters. They have written six books and edited 25.

In partnership with the Catholic Health Association, the Center publishes Health Care Ethics USA. Our faculty members are on the board of leading journals and serve as the editor of the Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics, and as the associate editor for the Journal of Medicine and Philosophy.

Annual Health Care Ethics Research Conference

Each year, the center hosts the Health Care Ethics Research Conference, which gives students an opportunity to present their research to the wider University audience.
